Experimental Study of Gravity Drainage Mechanism due to Continuous Gas Injection
Gravity drainage is a recovery process of subcategory of gas injection in hydrocarbon reservoirs which the gravity force is the original driving force. Because of existence of enough gas reservoirs in Iran, mentioned method could be used for enhancement of oil recovery of Iranian reservoirs. The goal of attainment of this study is analyze of gas oil gravity drainage mechanism as a recommendation method for enhance oil recovery in one of Iranian oil reservoirs. In this study proceeded to analyze the effect of gravity drainage mechanism in sand pack with reservoir condition (80 centigrade degree and 2000 psi pressure). All of experiments done in sand pack with 1500 millidarcy permeability and dead oil with 24.56 API and methane injected gas. Experiments results exhibit that the optimum injection rate for told reservoir conditions is 0.0858 cc per minute or 0.0619 meter per day. For this injection rate, oil recovery has been 28.71 percent.
